[It's very, VERY rare these days that Pinkie Pie has a free day to herself. Between party planning, hanging out with her friends, babysitting, baking for the Cakes, and the increasingly frequent magical adventure, plus or minus summoning, any lesser pony would've collapsed from sheer exhaustion. But that's Pinkie Pie for you: the epitome of extroversion, and always with enough energy and smiles for everypony.
Today, though, there's absolutely, positively nothing on Pinkie Pie's calendar. And there's this triple chocolate, quadruple berry trifle she's been DYING to try out, and there's a razzledazzleberry bush near the lake that'd be perfect for making it a triple chocolate, QUINTUPLE berry trifle. So off she goes, skipping along the road leading out of the town proper, humming out loud.]
Today, though, there's absolutely, positively nothing on Pinkie Pie's calendar. [It's a funny thing, really. One minute, you're piloting a spaceship through space, and then the next you're dropping from the sky and landing on something soft and fluffy. Cheese could never have predicted that is how his day would go when he woke up this morning. Not even with a hundred billion guesses. But suddenly drop from the sky onto the aforementioned person of fluffiness is exactly what has happened to him.

[Honestly, she wouldn't have either, what with space travel not being A Thing in their world yet. Her tail DOES twitch, followed by the REST of her body before there's not even time to react before a LOT of weight comes dropping onto her, followed by a squeak somewhere near her head.]

[Cheese meanwhile spends some time processing what is happening to him. It's Pinkie, she is here, she isn't some crazy hallucination, she's here and she's solid and real. He glances skyward, seeing only clear Equestrian skies. There are no spaceships. This isn't the Fleet.

He turns his focus back on Pinkie again and his quickly breaks into a smile, which itself quickly turns into a grin. She's the first pony he's laid eyes on in nearly two years and if he could pick any pony for that title, he would absolutely pick her. Every time. ]

[Yup, solid and real and kind of laying under him in a compromising position but it seems like neither of them notice. Once Pinkie shakes her head clear and that warm golden-orange coat, brown curly mane, and those green, green eyes come into focus again, she gasps in delight and grins herself, wrapping her forelegs around him in a tight hug.]

[He'll laugh happily (and possibly a little hysterically) because it's her. In all her Pinkie Pie Perfectness. He return the hug, happily riding on that wave of pure joy she seems to exude wherever she goes. He's home and he's with her. ]

[He's free to throw parties again. Sure, he could throw them on the Fleet, and BOY did he throw them, but it wasn't the same. Humans party differently to ponies. ]

I meant to write you about this, I really did, I Pinkie Promise, but-- Well, Tirek was stealing everypony's magic, but Twilight figured out that we needed to open this magical tree chest that had a castle inside and let us give all the magic back but-- but we all had to put stuff near it that turned into keys. And... And Boneless was one of those keys...

Y-yeah, he did... And yeah, it would've been hard to stop Tirek without him. And Twilight wouldn't have her new castle after Tirek burned the library down... And that feeling... I was bursting with so much joy I couldn't keep it all to myself if I wanted to! I wouldn't have been able to give everypony back their magic without him at all. Or you, if you hadn't given him to me.

[That little smile just melts his heart, really, and not for the first time in his life. She's just so good and decent, putting everypony before herself, no matter what. He tries to emulate her, but he knows he'll always just fall short of the heights of sheer goodness she lives on.
