Well, Fenris wasn't anywhere near the strangest or even the most aggressive of the aliens Kirk and his crew had met. Fenris was, at best, in the middling range, and the good Doctor had parlayed and bluffed against Klingons before. But then, most doctors had backbones like that - made of steel, and you only saw it when they got grumpy or protective. Personally, Kirk was glad the doctor wasn't letting Fenris get away with anything. He thought it was a nice change for the elf, and it also meant Bones rather liked Fenris too.
Kirk couldn't dismiss the other leaning in like that, the way his gaze shifted down to his own lips. He wasn't imagining it, was he? He couldn't be, especially when Fenris was usually so in control of actions like that, always seemed so guarded. Kirk could not help but let his own gaze drift to Fenris' lips, biting his as he wondered what the elf might do if he kissed him, what Fenris might taste like, what those elegant swirls of lyrium would feel like beneath his touch.
"Do I have your word on that?" he asked him, breathing in sharply as he suddenly decided to be bold. "We seal such things with a kiss, here."
